Prosecutors charged a man Tuesday with shooting and killing another man in broad daylight on a city sidewalk.
Isiah Bo'Cage Vos, 18, was charged with one count of first-degree murder. Prosecutors say Vos shot Jeffrey L. Maestas, 21, after an argument Friday afternoon.
At approximately 4:40 p.m., Maestas was seen driving a car west on 700 North. Vos was walking on the sidewalk nearby, and Maestas pulled over. A brief confrontation followed, and one man pulled a handgun out of his pocket and began shooting at the other.
Maestas was shot four times, killing him. Salt Lake police detective Kevin Joiner said the shooting was possibly gang-related.
Vos turned himself in to police on Saturday. He remains in the Salt Lake County Jail on $500,007 bail.
