Negative ads necessary

I have been dismayed with all of the press that has been made of John Swallow and the claim that his advertisements are misleading and negative. What about Jim Matheson's advertisements? What about the quotes Jim Matheson uses from John Swallow's former primary opponents?

Negative advertisements about a candidate's voting record are fair and necessary in informing voters. When I think of Jim Matheson and the complaints I have heard about exposing his voting record in negative advertisements, I think of what President Bush likes to say about another Democrat asking for our vote, "He can run, but he can't hide."
