Obituary: Laura Swensen McIntyre

1916 ~ 2004

Laura Swensen McIntyre, 88, died October 26, 2004 in Santaquin.

She was born June 20, 1916 in Pleasant Grove, Utah to E.J. and Elsie Walker Swensen. She married E. Steele McIntyre April 27, 1943 in Reno, Nevada.

Laura graduated from BYU, majoring in physical education and homemaking, and also attended George Washington University. She was a teacher at Tintic High School in Eureka for many years.

Laura was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Her children and grandchildren enjoyed many bounteous meals at her table. When the grandchildren had a choice of where they would like to have Thanksgiving dinner it was always Grandma McIntyre's. She served her community and church, always going the extra mile.

She will be remembered by her family and friends as a person who was generous with her time and devotion to those she knew. She enjoyed traveling and was ready at a moments notice for a trip around the world or just down the street.

We thank you, mother, for your unconditional love, your guidance and example of all that is good.

Survivors include her husband, children, Earl F. (Caren) McIntyre, of Wichita, Kansas, Samuel H. (Peggy) McIntyre, of Heber, Pamela (Douglas) Latimer, of Wellsville; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne.

Funeral services will be held Sat., October 30th at 1:00 p.m. in the Eureka LDS Chapel. Friends may call at Holladay-Brown Funeral Home, 66 S. 300 E., Santaquin, Friday 6- 8 p.m. and Sat. at the church one hour prior to services. Burial, Eureka Cemetery.
