Gays don't qualify to wed

We continue to see letter writers complain that they are denied their "rights" when they are not given a license to marry a person of the same sex. Their rights have not been violated. They simply do not meet the criteria.

We all know that governments issue many kinds of licenses to drive cars, fly airplanes, practice medicine, teach, etc. Each has certain criteria to determine eligibility. The rights of no one are violated if they fail to meet the required specifications. They simply don't qualify.
