Val Barnes, born March 25, 1925, died Oct. 28, 2004 of natural causes.

Val is survived by his wife (of 57 years) Margie; son, Larry (Sharon) Barnes of Riverton, Utah; one brother, Joseph Barnes; four grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, Lance, and Katy; and two great-grandchildren.

Val was born to Lawrence and Leone Barnes in Salt Lake City, graduated from West High School, and entered World War II where he flew 31 combat missions with the 384th Bomb Group. Val then married Margie Johnson, and then moved to Fillmore, Utah, where he farmed and ranched for 25 years. In 1973 he moved to Salt Lake City, where the remainder of his working career was spent in the building trades. Dad, we will miss you; however, we will soon be on the farm together.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, 12 noon at the Fillmore City, UT. Cemetery.
