Obituary: Barbara M. Holcomb

- Barbara M. Holcomb, 84, passed away Friday, October 29, 2004 at the home of her daughter surrounded by her loving family. Barbara is now reunited with her eternal compan-ion, Louis L. Holcomb.

She was born July 17, 1920 in Fulton, Michigan to Claire Nutting and James Henry Skinner. Barbara was the 12th of 15 children with 14 brothers. She married Louis L. Holcomb at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kalamazoo, Michigan September 28, 1938. She and her husband became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1958 and had their union solemnized April 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple. She and her husband were active temple workers in the Ogden Temple for many years and avid genealogy workers.

She worked for the Ogden Arsenal during World War II, later worked for Sahara Drug Store, Hospital Drug, Depot Drug, and Vince's Pharmacy for 20 years. She also worked at Internal Revenue Service, and retired from Hill AFB in 1963.

She is survived by four sons and one daughter, including Fredrick (Vaunda) F. Holcomb, Colleen Holcomb Jordan, Charles (Leigh Ann) R. Holcomb, Louis J. Holcomb, Roger (Nancy) W. Holcomb; two brothers, Elmer Skinner and Ovid Skinner of Michigan; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis L. Holcomb; grandson, Timothy P. Holcomb; great-granddaughter, Tammy Workman; and 12 brothers.

Funeral services will be held Monday November 1, 2004, Warren LDS Ward Chapel, 856 N 5900 W, at 11 a.m. Viewing will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. Monday. Interment will be at Warren City Cemetery. Send condolences to www.leavittsmortuary.com
