Obituary: Bula Albrecht Hoffman

1923 ~ 2004

Bula Albrecht Hoffman, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away October 27, 2004, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She died of complications following surgeries.

She was born in Fremont, Utah July 12, 1923 to LaVern and Sylvia Albrecht. She moved to Salt Lake City at an early age. Bula married Eldon Lynn Van Patten and had a son, Gary Lynn Van Patten. Eldon and Bula later divorced. She married Charles Hoff-man January 1, 1957 and he had three children. She worked for the Teamsters Union Local 222 for over 33 years. She loved her job and had many friends there. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many different callings. She loved serving in the Young Women's program and leading the music. She and her husband, Charles, enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel with the Good Sam Club and spending the winters in Arizona. "She was a mother to one and a grandmother to so many." She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

Bula is survived by her husband, Charles; son, Gary Van Patten (Karen); stepchildren, Janet Miller, Steve Hoffman, Peter Hoffman (Arlene); 14 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. in the Bluffdale LDS Ward 15040 South 2400 West. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Monday 6-8 p.m. or Tuesday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Draper Cemetery.
