WOMEN'S SOCCER: Freshman forward Chelsea Card and sophomore defender Melissa Wayman have been named Mountain West Conference players of the week. It is the second consecutive and second career honor for Card, who posted the game-winning goal in the Utes' 2-1 upset victory over seventh-ranked UCLA last Friday. Despite coming off the bench, Card has netted four goals in the past four games, including three game-winners. She leads Utah with four goals on the season. Wayman, a native of West Valley City, held the UCLA offense to just one goal.
VOLLEYBALL: The Cougars return home this week for a busy schedule that includes in-state rival Weber State on Tuesday and Mountain West Conference foes San Diego State and UNLV on Friday and Saturday. At 2-1 in the league, BYU is tied for third, and 0-2 against in-state squads.
WOMEN'S GOLF: BYU battled thick fog during the first round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Washington state but finished the day in eighth place. Senior Margaret Gibby was the Cougars' low scorer at 5-over 77. The tournaments concludes today.
SOCCER: Utah State soccer (3-7-1) travels to Moscow, Idaho, on Sunday to face the Idaho Vandals at 1 p.m. USU has played eight of its 11 matches on the road thus far.
VOLLEYBALL: UVSC is finally home today after playing 11 of its first 12 matches on the road, including the past nine. The Wolverines will host Westminster College at 7 p.m. in the Activity Center.
