Obituary: William Bennion Quist

1962 ~ 2004

Surrounded by family, William Bennion Quist, 42, died in Salt Lake City, Mon., Oct. 4 2004, from brain tumors.

Born January 8, 1962 in Salt Lake to Carol Joan Bennion and William Woodbury Quist, he lived with his family in several states and Saudi Arabia.

Will graduated from Pompton Lakes, NJ High School, served an LDS mission in Coventry, England, and graduated from BYU. August 30, 1984, in the Salt Lake Temple, he married Elsa Jeanne Wells, daughter of Jerry D. and Elsa Wells of Salt Lake. They had six children: William Wells, Sharon Rose, Rebecca Lee, Kathryn April, Jonathan Wells, and Annika Joy.

After editing in the Church Education System, Will worked for Benchmark Books, Weller's Books, and then operated his own store, Alpha Books in Salt Lake.

In addition to extended family, he's survived by Elsa, children, parents, brothers: Douglas Bennion (Claudia Parry), children Nicole, Daniella, Jacqueline, Nathaniel, and

Alexandra, Sunnyvale CA; Jerald Bennion (Michelle Hewitson), children Matthew and Alyssa, Bountiful; Ronald Bennion (Lorelee Lyon), children Brandon and Benjamin, West Jordan; Kenneth Bennion, Sandy.

He's preceded in death by grandparents Feramorz H. and Flora S Bennion, William O and Gladys W. Quist; a niece and nephew.

As he wished, his body has been donated to the University of Utah Medical School.

The family thanks Woodland Park Care Center personnel for their years of compassionate service to Will.

Memorial Services will be held Sat., Oct. 9 at 12 noon at Nibley Park Ward Chapel, 2450 S. 600 E., Salt Lake.

Relatives and friends may gather at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the W & E Quist Children Educational Fund at any Wells-Fargo Bank.
