Obituary: Hiroshi Ikegami

4/16/34 ~ 9/27/04

Dad left us on Monday, September 27, 2004 to be reunited with the love of his life, Toby.

Hiro was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 16, 1934 to Akitaro and Mitsuko Ikegami. He married Torako (Toby) Sunata on September 4, 1957. Together they made a home in Salt Lake City, Utah. They have one daughter, Lisa, and one son Rick.

Hiro worked for Sperry Rand /UNIVAC retiring in 1989 to caddy for Lisa on the Player's West Golf Tour. Dad loved all sports whether coaching or participating in football, bowling, skiing, basketball, hunting, fishing, or golf. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1955.

Dad is survived by a daughter, Lisa (Kirk) Imamura, Rick (Bobbie); grandchildren: Ashley, Treyton, Kobe, Mitchell, Marcus, and Maya; brothers and sisters: Masako (Hideo) Morinaka, Yoshiko (Davis) Oda, Akiko (Setsuo) Takenaka, Yaeko, Yutako, Ben (Pat) Takashi, and Ken (Kathy). One sister-in-law: Takako Ikegami, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Tsutomu (Tom) Ikegami.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 8, 2004 at the Salt Lake Buddhist Temple, 211 W. 100 S. at 1:00 p.m. Interment immediately following the funeral at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
