One of the oldest family-owned businesses in Utah, The Buckner Group, has changed its name to The Buckner Co.
In recognition of the name change, the company said in a statement, six oak trees will be donated and planted at the Christmas Box House in a ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday. Author Richard Paul Evans and executives of the Christmas Box House and the Girls & Boys Group Homes are expected to attend.
The Buckner Co. said it will donate oak trees annually to a charitable cause or organization. The Christmas Box House, at 3660 S. West Temple, will be the first recipient. The Christmas Box House is a Salt Lake County Division of Youth Services facility for children at risk for abuse, neglect or dependency and for the Girls & Boys Group Homes.
