Ivory's message uplifting

Bob Bernick, in his Friday opinion piece, "Can Ivory pull off write-in victory for mayor?" states that Salt Lake County mayoral candidate Ellis Ivory's campaign message isn't "exactly uplifting." Bernick either hasn't been paying attention or is one of the most cynical men on the planet.

Ellis' campaign message is a message of voluntarism. Not only for himself, as evidenced by his commitment to take no salary or perks, but for all of us as well. Ellis is calling on citizens of Salt Lake County to help him govern and to volunteer our efforts to help make Salt Lake County government exactly what it should be, a community service. If there's a more uplifting campaign message out there than this, in any of the races, I sure haven't seen it.
