Tuesday night's debate between Cheney and Edwards was a bit frightening for anyone who pays careful attention to public education. Cheney still thinks the burdensome foolishness of "No Child Left Behind" is a credit to his administration; and Edwards promises major school improvements. Local control of public education helped make America great.
The bureaucratic bungling, the one-size-fits-all approach and the simple incompetence of Congress twiddling with public schools is exemplified by the glaring failures of "No Child Left Behind." Whomever we elect, may they quickly forget any pie-in-the-sky campaign promises for Congress to further muck around with our schools!
