UVSC events spur security guidelines

OREM — Utah Valley State College is preparing for upcoming appearances by conservative talk show host Sean Hannity and "Fahrenheit 9/11" filmmaker Michael Moore.

Hannity will speak Monday at 8:30 p.m. His Fox News show "Hannity & Colmes" will be broadcast live from the McKay Events Center at 7 p.m. and will be shown on the big screen in the arena prior to the speech.

Moore will speak the following Wednesday, Oct. 20, at noon, also at the events center. Both events are sold out.

To ensure the safety of those attending, the college will enforce the following rules:

Patrons will be subject to a security search upon entering the McKay Events Center.

Items not allowed into the arena include bags, backpacks, purses, weapons, spiked clothing/jewelry, banners, signs, food or beverages.

Anyone causing disturbance or interference with the proceedings will be subject to ejection from the arena. There will be no re-entry allowed.

Violations of any guidelines will result in ejection from the event without refund. Individuals unwilling to comply with the guidelines can get a refund at the box office prior to the event.

A designated protest zone will be available near the main entrance to the McKay Events Center for both events.

Patrons are encouraged to arrive early. Doors will open two hours prior to the start of each event.
