Owen M. Staley, 88, has been honored for his 60 years of service to the Boy Scouts of America.
A Coalville native, Staley received the "Veteran Award" from the national BSA for service dating back to 1944.
"Countless Scouts, grown to maturity with children and grandchildren of their own, are giving back to others the inspiration that you imparted to them," stated a letter of congratulations from the National BSA office in Irving, Texas.
During Staley's years of service, the BSA has grown from its infancy to become the largest youth organization in the free world.
