Thursday's deadly attack on Spain was felt 5,000 miles away in Utah.
After the explosions, full-time missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were asked to remain in their apartments, said LDS spokesman Coke Newell.
All full-time missionaries were safe and accounted for after the bombings, he said.
Elizabeth Hutchinson, 19, of Salt Lake City, was touring with a study group from Cottey College, Nevada, Mo., when bombs exploded along the rail line near the group's Madrid hotel.
The students had planned Thursday to take the metro into Atocha station to visit art museums. They found alternative transportation but could see rescue vehicles in the area.
The group was to travel to the countryside by train today but was shifted to buses.
