Jacob Roscoe Hunt, age 92, passed away Monday, March 15, 2004 in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by his loving family.

Roscoe was born June 4, 1911 in Sugar City, Idaho to Jacob Truman and Esther Canfield Hunt. They moved to Enterprise, Utah when Roscoe was four years old, where they spent ten years prior to moving to Lehi, Utah.

Roscoe served in the California Mission where he met his sweetheart, Mae Hyde, a sister missionary. They were married July 31, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised their family of five sons in Centerville, Roscoe was co-owner of Columbia Pest control with his brothers. He has served faithfully in countless church callings including Bishop of the Centerville 3rd Ward and member of the Davis Stake Presidency, all of which prepared him for his service as Stake Patriarch, a calling which he has held since 1978. Roscoe and Mae served a mission together in Independence, Missouri, and served tirelessly in the Salt Lake Temple. Roscoe continued to serve in the Bountiful LDS Temple until a year ago.

Roscoe is survived by his sons, Jake (Sandi) Hunt, Centerville; Barry (Rebecca) Hunt, Kaysville; Brian (Sandra) Hunt, Centerville; Brent (Carri) Hunt, Brigham City; Bruce (Karen) Hunt, Kaysville; 24 grandchildren 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Levi (Virginia) Hunt; Heber Hunt, Elwood (Ina) Hunt; sisters, Florence (Don) Jacobs and Maxine Hoyt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerville North Stake Center, 1461 N. Main, Centerville. Friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
