The final three winners in this year's prep Hoops Picks contests are Ned Calder of Garden City, Rich County; Patrick Kennedy, Provo; and Ryan Parsons, Cedar City.

The Deseret Morning News sponsors the annual competition, in which entrants try to guess winners of state high school basketball tournament games.

First-place winners each receive $50 and a Hoop Picks T-shirt. Six runners-up in each contest receive T-shirts.

5A BOYS: Calder took first place among 301 entries by correctly prognosticating 11 of the 15 5A boys games, including the championship game, one of two semifinals and three of four quarterfinals.

Runners-up are: Jesse Calder, Garden City; Rich Nielsen, West Valley City; Stephanie Henderson, Provo; Kyle J. Hyde, Logan; Donovan Malmrose, South Jordan; and Mary Malmrose, South Jordan.

4A BOYS: Of 400 entrants, Kennedy was the best picker, correctly guessing 12 of the 15 tournament games. Runners-up are Stephen Leetham, Pleasant Grove; Rodney Johnson, Columbia, Mo.; Ashley Kennedy, Provo; Kelly Newbold, Payson; Heather Durrant, Provo; and David Hiatt, Payson.

1A BOYS: Parsons was correct with all 15 picks. Runners-up are: M. Miles, Monroe, Sevier County; Peggy Briggs, Manila, Daggett County; Brandt Lovell, Payson; William Schell. Manila; Tim Robinson, Manila; and Clark Anderson, Manila.
