Saturday is National Quilt Day, and the Sandy Senior Center will be celebrating in style.
Senior citizens throughout the valley will be displaying quilts in a generation-to-generation show. In addition, there will be quilt demonstrations by local quilt stores, an open sew room, problem solving with Hazel Nelson and machine-quilting techniques by Linda Roderick. An afternoon tea will be served at 2 p.m.
In conjunction with the quilt fair, an art show of works by local artists will also be presented.
The public is invited to participate in this free event at the center, 9310 S. 1300 East, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. For more information, call 561-3265.
