In response to your outsourcing editorial, one of the actions Congress needs to take is to pressure the political leaders of job-importing nations to open their doors to United States products and services. Otherwise, our country's standard of living may be impacted.

Many have lost high-paying jobs and have been forced to find other lower-paying jobs here in Utah. The shipping of lower-paying wages overseas is supposed to allow those who have lost their jobs to find higher-paying jobs afterwards. That is not happening.

During this election year we must elect those who will put appropriate pressure on those countries who want our jobs but don't want our products and services. I would propose federal legislation that restricts companies from sending jobs to countries where U.S. imports are burdened by tariffs or import taxes. Turnabout is fair play.
