Moving technology from research to industry will be the topic of a "technology@breakfast" meeting from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Friday at the Alta Club.
Directors from technology transfer offices at Utah's research universities will explain the role they have in creating high-tech jobs and spin-out companies, details of the tech transfer and licensing processes, and intellectual property issues. They will also hear about some of the new technologies at each university.
Panel members include Jayne Carney, University of Utah; Lynn Astle, Brigham Young University; and Steve Kubisen, Utah State University.
RSVPs may be completed at techalliance.utah.gov/rsvp.html. More information is available by contacting Annette Babisz at ababisz@utah.gov or 1801-538-8879.
The free monthly tech breakfasts are hosted by the Utah Technology Alliance and the Business Expansion and Retention program of the Utah Division of Business and Economic Development.
