"Together Again"
OGDEN <! > Zella Huffaker McDonald, 88, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, died Friday, March 26, 2004 from complications due to age.
She was born December 2, 1915 in Midway, Utah a daughter of Louisa and Royal Huffaker. She graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City.
Zella married Dean McDonald June 27, 1936 in Randolph, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She and her family moved to the Ogden area in 1945. Dean preceded her in death December 18, 1998.
She will be remembered for her ever cheerful countenance, loving kindness and sensitive spirit. She was a wonderful example for each of us.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served diligently in several positions, Primary presidency in the 20th Ward, secretary in the Weber Heights Stake YW program for many years, visiting teacher, and an extraction worker.
Zella's interests were varied but with none greater than the love and concern she felt and displayed for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed cooking, quilting, playing the piano and especially being with friends. She and her husband loved to travel and loved seeing and visiting family in Vernal Utah; California; Oregon; and Montana. They had a summer home in St. George and loved having visitors.
Zella had worked for Hill Air Force for many years.
Surviving are one son and one daughter, Keith (Adreana) McDonald, Vernal; RaVae (Terry) Cheney, Ogden; eight grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Relva Winmill Maisey, St. George. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and three sisters, Reba Davis, Vay Hicken, Roy Huffaker, Burton Huffaker, Birdean Cole, Calvin Huffaker, Wilburn Huffaker, David Huffaker, and Sherman Huffaker.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Kingston Ward Chapel, 1500 Kingston Dr. Friends may call at the Ward Chapel Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment Midway, Utah City Cemetery.
