PROVO — A 27-year-old man was in stable condition Sunday night after a fall in Rock Canyon.

Kenny Wheeler of Provo and other people were hiking on the north face of Rock Canyon about 2 p.m. Sunday when they stopped to view the valley, a Provo police statement said.

Wheeler slipped and fell 15-20 feet as he got up to leave the area, the statement said.

Someone with a cell phone called authorities. Rescuers brought Wheeler off the mountain. He received numerous lacerations and was transported to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
