1910 ~ 2004

Donald T. Wride peacefully returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday morning March 2, 2004. His faithful wife of 13 years, Florence, was by his side.

Born October 9, 1910 to Thomas E. and Rosetta P. Wride. He was the sixth of seven children. Don was a lifetime farmer, rancher, and lifetime resident of Benjamin, Utah.

He served an L.D.S. mission to the Central States Mission in the mid 1930s. On September 7, 1937 he married Edna Bowen of Spanish Fork in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple. He and Edna continued to operate the family's dairy and beef farm. They were blessed with two children, Kathleen and Blake.

Don served as the Bishop of the Benjamin Ward from 1956 to 1962 and served as a High Councilman in the Nebo Stake.

His sweet wife, Edna, passed away on December 1, 1981. Don continued to work as a cattleman and loved herding cattle in the mountains. He also served as a worker in the Provo Utah L.D.S. Temple. Don was an avid fan of the B.Y.U. Cougars and was a member of the Cougar Club. He was a summer fixture at the Spanish Fork baseball parks where he enjoyed watching his favorite sport.

He sponsored many of the awards presented at the local livestock shows. In 1990 Don was honored as the Utah Cattleman of the Year. In 1994 he received the "Old-Timer's" award from the local cattleman's association. Throughout his life Don provided area youth with opportunities to learn to work and he could keep pace with the strongest of them until late in his life.
