JUAB COUNTY — A chase on Tuesday resulted in two arrests and the recovery of nearly 1 1/2 pounds of suspected methamphetamine.
Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Chugg said a UHP officer stopped a pickup truck with three males inside along I-15 in Juab County. While he was questioning the driver outside of the truck, one of the passengers took the wheel and drove north on I-15.
The two men threw four 1-pound packages of suspected methamphetamine out the window as they drove. One package hit the patrol car. The chase lasted for six miles until UHP and Santaquin police were able to stop the car.
The two men in the truck were arrested, but police are searching for the original driver who escaped when the chase began.
