BOUNTIFUL — Artists are being solicited to enter their works in this year's expanded Bountiful Handcart Days Arts and Crafts show, June 2 to July 24.
The show has been extended two weeks and will open before school is out, said Anne Marie Oborn, chairwoman for the annual event. The exhibit is the highest-attended show at the Bountiful/Davis Art Center and is expected to attract 300 entries this year.
To allow time for judging and hanging, all entries must be submitted on May 21-22 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the center, 745 S. Main.
The pageant's theme this year is "Go Forward With Faith."
Several changes have been made this year, including no more than one entry per artist, the professional category will be juried and, in response to many requests, photography will be added as a category.
In the arts category, submissions will be accepted in painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, metalwork, woodwork, quilting (original design) and photography. Submissions can be made in three skill areas: professional, amateur and youth.
In the crafts category, work can be submitted for needlework, quilts (created from a pattern) woodwork and china painting.
Awards will be given for first, second and third places, honorable mention and people's choice. Work must be original, not previously exhibited at the BDAC, completed within the past five years and ready for display.
Entry forms are available at the BDAC.
