Beware of blind spots

SHARE Beware of blind spots

I just learned about the tragic incident that happened when little Zach Doherty was backed over and killed in his own driveway. Please do not treat this as a "freak accident" as KSL-TV has done in its story. Little Zach is part of a growing epidemic where children are being backed over and killed (most frequently by a family member) because they literally cannot be seen.

At least 72 children lost their lives that way last year — more than one every week. Thousands of children are being treated in emergency rooms every year after being backed over as well.

Please visit our Web site www.kidsandcars.org to learn more about the blind spots found behind all vehicles as well as information about these predictable and preventable tragedies.
