Betty Collard, age 57, left this earthly existence on April 9, 2004, to be reunited with her parents.
The sixth child of Harry Junius and Annie Veora Mikkelsen Collard, Betty entered this life on December 22, 1946, in Moroni, Utah. She lived in Fountain Green until 1948 when the family moved to Daniels, Utah. In 1992 she became a resident of Deseret Village in Spanish Fork. During her stay there she worked at Central Utah Enterprises. She took great pride in her work and often admonished others with her motto: No work, no pay. Betty was a resident of Rocky Mountain Care in Heber City, Utah, at the time of her death.
Like many Down's children, Betty had an amazing capacity for unconditional love. She loved to hug others and did so vigorously and often, as many a breathless recipient can attest to. She loved the scriptures and had a remarkable knowledge of the LDS Church history. Most of all, she loved the Lord.
Betty is survived by her five brothers and sisters: Ruth (Chuck) Syme, Fay (Bill) Pay, Joyce (George, deceased) Anderson, Ed (Pat) Collard, and Harry (Barbara) Collard. She was also a good friend to her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2004 - 11:00 a.m. in the Daniels Canyon Ward Church, 1200 East 2400 South (Mill Road), Heber City. Family and friends are welcome to a visitation on Monday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main Street, Heber City, and on Tuesday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the LDS Church.
