The Utah baseball team will try to extend its longest winning streak of the season when it takes on UNLV in a three-game series beginning today at 6 p.m. at Franklin Covey Field.
The Utes come into the series on a three-game wining streak after beating New Mexico on Saturday and Albertson College in a doubleheader on Tuesday at Ute Field. Utah is 3-7 in Mountain West Conference play and 10-19 overall.
UNLV comes into the game at 22-13 overall and 9-3 in MWC play, in a tie for first with San Diego State. The Rebels are the defending MWC champs, preseason favorites and currently ranked No. 34 in the nation.
The Utes and Rebels will also play Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon at Franklin Covey. The Utes are expected to go with Jason Price (2-5), Doug Mackay (2-4) and Ben Buck (1-1) on the mound.
