Loving Husband & Father

Our beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Joseph Jr. Balfour was reunited on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 with his sweet wife, Marcia Balfour, who died five weeks to the day before him. He died peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by his children.

Dad was born on February 22, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph and Blanche Balfour. He was a veteran of World War II serving honorably in the US Navy from 1945 -1947 on the fueling tanker U.S.S. Pamanset. He married Marcia Christofferson on November 24, 1948. He worked at Kennecott Copper Corp. and retired after 41 years of service.

He is survived by his children, Karen (Myron) Denison, David (Laura), Mark, Joyce (Skip) Olsen; grandchildren, Matt (Shelyse) Denison, Ryan (Sharlyn) Denison, Kira, Mike (Yessika) Denison, Stephanie (Jeremy) Ketterer, Michele Balfour, Kristina Balfour, Samantha Olsen, Brandon Olsen and great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Caden and Tanner Denison. He is also survived by his mother, Blanche Balfour and brothers Don (Phyllis) Balfour, Malcolm, Darryl and Garry Balfour. Also survived by sister-in-law, Carol Hurlburt, brothers-in-law, Harley and Don Christofferson.

Preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marcia Balfour, a baby boy who died at birth, his father, Joseph Balfour, sister, Marie Fuwell, brother, Keith Balfour, his father and mother in-law, three sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.

Dedication of grave will be held Mon., April 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Camp Williams Memorial Park, 17111 So. Camp Williams Rd. A viewing will be held Sunday, April 25th from 6-8 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 S. Redwood Rd.
