1917 ~ 2004
Verle Allen Liddle was born February 13, 1917 in Darlington, Idaho to Frank and Zelda Higbee Allen. She passed away April 26, 2004 in Spanish Fork, Utah at the age of 87.
She was raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated from Las Vegas High School and Brigham Young University. She taught school in Nevada, Salt Lake City, and St. George. Her favorite age was kindergarten. She received many teaching awards, among them the Superintendent's Award For Excellence from Washington County School District. She married journalist Theron Cahoon Liddle in Las Vegas in 1947. They resided in Pocatello, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah. Verle was active in PTA and church. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She is survived by three children, Linda (Paul) Bartholomew of Spanish Fork, Utah; Gordon (Jackie), Sandy, Utah; and Norman (Denise) Salt Lake City, Utah; and two step-children, Elizabeth Ann Wood, Palo Alto, CA, and Ralph Liddle. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and three brothers, Leland Allen, Dean Allen and Franklin Allen.
Services will be held Thursday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Yalecrest 2nd Ward, 1035 South 1800 East, Salt Lake City. There will be a viewing from 12:00-12:45 at the same location. Local services are under the direction of Berg Mortuary of Provo. Burial will be Friday, April 30 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nevada. Burial services will take place at 2:00 p.m.
