"Grandpa Poulsen"

Ray Richard Poulsen, 89, our beloved dad and grandpa, passed away peacefully March 31, 2004.

He was born July 26, 1914 in Los Angeles, California to Joseph Richard and Emma Elizabeth Pehrson Poulsen. On August 29, 1932 he married Marian Isabelle Ashment in Tooele, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Marian preceded Ray in death January 27, 2002.

Ray was a wonderful and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was raised in Union, Utah. He attended Jordan High School. Ray was a carpenter by trade. He was the financial clerk for his ward in Midvale, Utah for 11 years. He had a love for horses and hunting. Ray was an accomplished baseball and basketball player. He had a passion for golf which he played with his brothers into his late 80's. Ray was a loving and kind man who willingly gave countless hours of love and support to all of his family.

Survivors: daughters, Jeanne (Don) Pearson and Gayle Anderson; five grandchildren, Terry (Jill) Campbell, Susan (Craig) Oliver, Dirk (Patti) Anderson, Debbie (Alan) James, Cheri (Randy) Hubrich; 14 great-grandchildren; two great- great- grandchildren; brothers, John (Violet) Poulsen, Delbert (Aleen) Poulsen, Kenneth (Violet) Poulsen. Preceded in death by brother and his wife, Don and Margaret; sisters and their husbands, Lena and Ed Edmondson, Merle and Faye Shields.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 5, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State where friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. or Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
