BOSTON — Darrell May earned his first victory since Sept. 21, Carlos Beltran had three hits with four RBIs and the Kansas City Royals snapped the Boston Red Sox's five-game win streak with an 8-4 victory Sunday.

May (1-3) allowed two runs and seven hits and a walk, striking out five before leaving with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth.

Mike Sweeney was 2-for-2 with three intentional walks and Kelly Stinnett homered for the Royals, who snapped four-game losing streak and won on the road for just the third time all season

Derek Lowe (3-3) gave up six runs and five hits and five walks in 5 2/3 innings.

Manny Ramirez and Bill Mueller both homered for Boston.

ORIOLES 12, INDIANS 11: At Baltimore, Miguel Tejada's second homer of the game highlighted a four-run sixth inning, and Baltimore held on for its first three-game sweep of Cleveland since August 1993.

Melvin Mora also homered and Tejada, who came in with two home runs, had his sixth career two-homer game.

Lou Merloni homered for the Indians, who have dropped five in a row.

Trailing 8-6, Baltimore came back with a four-run sixth after David Riske (0-1) replaced starter Jason Davis.

Rodrigo Lopez (3-1) was the winner and Jorge Julio, the seventh Baltimore pitcher, allowed two runs and loaded the bases before getting his fifth save.

TIGERS 5, RANGERS 3: At Arlington, Alex Sanchez hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning, and Nate Robertson allowed three hits in seven-plus innings for Detroit.

With the game tied at 3, Sanchez hit a two-out, solo homer off Kenny Rogers (4-2) to give the Tigers their first lead. Rondell White, who had two RBIs, added a run-scoring single off Jeff Nelson.

Robertson (2-2) gave up three runs, struck out seven and walked two in 7 2/3 innings. Ugueth Urbina got three outs for his fourth save in four chances.

The teams combined for 32 hits in Texas' 16-15 victory in 10 innings Saturday night, but just eight runs and nine hits Sunday.

BLUE JAYS 5, WHITE SOX 2: At Toronto, Justin Miller tied a career high by pitching seven strong innings, Frank Catalanotto hit a two-run homer and Toronto won its season-high fifth straight.

Miller (1-0) also tied a career high with seven strikeouts, allowing two runs and seven hits. The Blue Jays swept the White Sox in a three-game series for the first time since April 17-19, 1998.

Kerry Ligtenberg pitched 1 1/3 innings for his first save.

Frank Thomas hit a two-run single for the White Sox, whose three-game losing streak is a season high.

YANKEES 7, MARINERS 6: At Seattle, Hideki Matsui's sacrifice fly in the eighth inning gave New York its second comeback win from a six-run deficit this week.

Derek Jeter, Jason Giambi and Alex Rodriguez homered for the Yankees, who trailed 6-0 in the second. New York, which has 12 come-from-behind wins, also rallied from six down in a 10-8 win at Oakland on Tuesday.

In the eighth, Rafael Soriano (0-3) walked Rodriguez on a 3-2 count and gave up a single to Giambi to put runners on first and second. Rodriguez later scored on Matsui's sacrifice fly off Shigetoshi Hasegawa.

Paul Quantrill (4-1) got the win and Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth for his 28th consecutive save and 12th this season.

ANGELS 8, DEVIL RAYS 4: At Anaheim, Jeff DaVanon homered and drove in four runs, Jarrod Washburn won his fifth straight start, and injury-plagued Anaheim won its ninth straight game.

Angels outfielder Jose Guillen homered in the fifth but sprained his right knee and ankle in the seventh. He is the fourth Anaheim starting player to get injured.

Washburn (6-1) allowed four runs and 10 hits in 6 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out five. Francisco Rodriguez got seven outs for his first save of the season.

ATHLETICS 8, TWINS 4: At Oakland, Mark Mulder pitched a season-high nine innings and Bobby Kielty hit a two-run homer and drove in three runs for Oakland.

Billy McMillon had two hits with an RBI double and Erubiel Durazo drove in two runs for the A's, who hadn't won a series at home since the season's first week.

Mulder (3-2) tossed a six-hitter for his 18th career complete game and first since Aug. 8 at Chicago.
