WOODS CROSS - <! > James Theodore Ashauer, age 48, passed away May 7, 2004 at his home from cancer.

Jim was born January 15, 1956 in Charlotte, North Carolina to Nada Faye and Teddie Joe Henderson. Jim spent his youth in California and moved to Bountiful at age 14. He graduated from Bountiful High and attended Utah Technical College and Weber State. He served an LDS mission to Texas and New Mexico. He married Pamela Syndergaard on October 9th, 1979 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the proud parents of three girls. Jim retired in October from a job he loved with the Davis County Recorder's Office where he held many positions over the years, including almost two years as the interim Davis County Recorder. Jim was an avid reader and especially enjoyed science fiction and studying U.S. military history. He spent his spare time as a scale plastic model builder and won numerous awards for his work.

Jim was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions over the years including Elder's Quorum President, High Counselor, Counselor in the Bishopric and was serving as Bishop of the Woods Cross 9th Ward at the time of his death.

Jim is survived by his wife and best friend Pam, daughters Stacy (Shawn) Averett, of Logan, Ali and Brittney both of Woods Cross; mother Nada Floisand (Syracuse), sister Rena (Alex) Miller (Holladay), brother Dan Ashauer (West Valley) and step-father Fritz (Carolyn) Ashauer of Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his father Teddie Joe Henderson and step-father Trygve Floisand.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woods Cross 9th Ward Chapel, 1500 South 800 West, Woods Cross, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday evening 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, and 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
