- Lucile Livingston Bowen, 78, passed away on Sunday evening, May 9, 2004, in the Mountain View Hospital in Payson, Utah.
She was born in Spanish Fork on February 5, 1926, to Arthur and
Diantha "Thea" (Mikkelsen) Livingston. She married Robert O. Bowen in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 3, 1946.
Children: Robert Kent Bowen (Peggy) Houston, TX; Marsha Bowen Morgan (Blake) Sandy, UT; Blake Livingston Bowen, Spanish Fork, UT; 12 grandchildren; four great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother and three sisters; Burnell Arthur Livingston, (Lenore); Phyllis Ann Rogers (Roy); June Neta Fullmer (Leon); Ivy LaRee Angus White.
Lucile graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1944. She excelled academically and was actively involved in theater and journalism. She played the romantic leading female role in the stage drama Smilin' Through and was the recipient of the Archie Williams Dramatic Reading Award.
She and Bob started their married life together in the army. They spent their honeymoon in Fort Bragg, NC. Lucile was a devoted wife and mother who always said, "If variety is the spice of life, then I must be the queen of spice." Over the years she supported and encouraged Bob through his many ventures as a soldier, educator, farmer, state legislator, bureaucrat, and retired citizen at large. During their 57 years together they traveled twice to Europe and twice to the Far East. Through those years Lucile also enjoyed a 15-year-career as a beloved cashier and head receptionist of Brigham Young University and then the head receptionist in the State Attorney General's Office until her retirement 10 years later.
After residing in Salt Lake for the past 22 years, Lucile and Bob moved back home to Spanish Fork, this past March.
There is a destiny that makes us brothers - no one walks his way alone.
That which we put into the lives of others comes back into our own." <! >
Lucile loved and lived this message. May the lives of her loving family,
caring friends, and numerous health care providers who have nursed and comforted her through these delicate and difficult years be blessed - as was hers.
