Sen. John Kerry, it would seem, does not drive an SUV. His wife does. Kerry does not need to feel bad about a member of his family driving an SUV since "everybody" drives one.

Sen. Kerry seems to have thrown away either his ribbons or medals earned during his service in Vietnam. He need not apologize for discarding his medals, nor his anti-war activities after his active military service ended.

During those war years I was a hawk, a follower of Barry Goldwater of Arizona. I did not understand the "traitorous" Vets Against the War. I have changed since those days. I have learned about things that happened in Vietnam that did not make it into the papers or TV news programming. What led John Kerry and others to turn against the war? What he saw, or learned about, must have been horrendous. Kerry showed the same bravery after his military service that he did while serving and earning ribbons and a medal.
