FARMINGTON — John Acorn, the self-proclaimed "nature nut," will be the featured attraction at this year's Great Salt Lake Bird Festival at the Davis County FairPark.
Author, lecturer, musician and television host, Acorn is best known as the writer and host of the TV series on Animal Planet, "Acorn, the Nature Nut."
Acorn will present a show for students at Northridge High School in Layton at 9:30 a.m. Friday and for the public at 6 that evening at the FairPark, 151 S. 1100 West in Farmington.
His presentations are titled, "Dinos & Binos," "The Family That Birds Together," and "A Field Guy and His Field Guides." All are free to the public.
On Saturday, Acorn will guide a nature walk to the Great Salt Lake Shorelands Preserve. Tickets are required. He will have a book signing at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Davis County FairPark prior to his keynote address at the annual festival dinner at 6 p.m. Dinner reservations must be made before Wednesday.
