MOAB — Grand County investigators on Monday were still conducting interviews and collecting evidence concerning the weekend stabbing death of a tourist outside Moab.

Walter Pratt, 58, a retired Navy officer from Sioux Falls, S.D., who was traveling around the country by himself, was stabbed several times about 7:15 a.m. Sunday off U-128 near the Fisher Towers turnoff.

The alleged assailant, a 57-year-old Colorado man, was stopped by the Utah Highway Patrol a short time later in Pratt's vehicle and arrested. Graham Austin was being held Monday for investigation of homicide in the Grand County Jail.
