Letty May Brown Barney, 66, beloved wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away Monday, May 10, 2004.
Letty was born May 13, 1937 in Provo, Utah, to Thomas Dean and Julia Louise Hatch Brown. She married Elmer H. Barney on August 30, 1957 in Elko, Nevada.
She graduated from Pocatello High School. She was a wonderful Head Start teacher. She loved the children very much and they, in turn, loved her. She enjoyed reading, art, and watching movies. She especially loved going on mountain rides, particularly during the autumn season.
Letty was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Letty is survived by her husband, Elmer H. Barney of Spanish Fork; her children: Mike (Toshiko), Bob (Peggy), Rich, Susan (Mike) Haney, John; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers: Harold, Jimmy, and Steven; and four sisters: Barbara, Dorothy, Susan, and Kathy. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, David Earl Barney.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 1 p.m. in the Spanish Fork 10th Ward Chapel, 381 East 400 North. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday evening, May 12, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday, May 13, 2004 from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
