An Officer and
a Gentleman
Dean Arthur Densley, age 73, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2004.
Art was born Sept. 1, 1930, in Salt Lake City, UT to William Melvin and DeVone Oliane Jensen Densley. Art graduated from South High School, University of Utah and received his Masters Degree from BYU. Art was a dedicated teacher for 37 years teaching at Glendale Jr. High, Irving Jr. High, Southeast Jr. High, South High, West High and retired from Clayton Intermediate School. He served in the Utah Air National Guard during the Korean Conflict to his retirement in 1990. He reached the rank of Major and was Commander of the 151st Aerial Port Flight. Art received many medals and decorations and was proud to serve his country.
Survived by wife, Elaine, children, Debra, Terri, David (Lisa), Joylynn (Frank), five grandchildren, brothers, Paul M. (Leanore), J. Bruce (Karen), Steven L. (Cheryl), Don W. (Bonnie) and sister, Sharon D. Sugaya (Shioji) and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and one grandson.
Services will be held Friday, May 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., Larkin Sunset Gardens Chapel, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy. Family and friends are invited to a viewing, Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery with military honors.
