Why are gasoline and diesel prices so high? Environmentalists are the culprits.

How is that?

There has not been a refinery built in the U.S. for 20 years, resulting in shortages. Why? Environmentalist-sponsored regulations.

Also, California has regulated fuel formulas so extensively that the shortage of refining capacity has driven California gasoline prices far above the point dictated by crude oil prices, so the price of gasoline in California is 40 cents higher than across the border in Oregon, in spite of Oregon's high tax.

In short, the environmentalists are saving the American environment and economy out of existence.
