- Heber Rose, age 100, passed away Monday May 10, 2004 in Delta.
Born March 3, 1904 in Mapleton, ID to Arnold Elmer and Mariah Evylin Taylor Rose. Married Dora Twitchell October 19, 1927 in Salt Lake Temple. She died October 21, 2001.
Active member LDS Church with strong conviction and knowledge of Savior, serving in many positions. Orphaned at age 12, moved from Ogden to Abraham. Worked railing brush with team of horses at $2.00 per day. Became foreman of the large Clear Lake Ranch and provided a home for new bride Dora. After harsh depression and losing all earthly possessions moved to Delta and eventually Sutherland where they spent the rest of their lives farming. Assisted in construction of church buildings and hospitals. Loved music, square dancing.
Survived by children: Virginia (Gerald) Robinson, Orem; Michael (Elaine) Rose, Delta; Margo (David) Wilde, Croydon; 13 grandchildren: 43 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son: Heber Dean; daughter: Dora Carmen Hepworth, brothers and sisters: Elmer Glen (Irene) Rose, Ada May (Cornelius) Wayment, Willie Ray (Elizabeth) Rose, Veda (Irvine) Gavin, John Rowe (Marion) Rose, Arthur E. (Lucy) Rose, Roy Wayment (Janet) Rose.
Funeral services Sat., May 15, 2004, 2 p.m., Sutherland 2nd Ward, 3120 W. 2600 N., Delta. Friends at Nickle Mortuary, Fri., May 14, 2004, 7-8:30 p.m. and at church Saturday 12:30-1:40 p.m. Burial Hinckley Cemetery.
