MAGNA/HUNTER<! > -Our cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Adele Baker Rushton, 81, passed away May 11, 2004.

Adele was born on June 8, 1922 in Brigham City, Utah to David Morgan Baker and Gladys Beatrice Crompton. She married Don Rushton in 1941. They moved to Hunter, Utah in 1943 where they raised their three children; their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple February 14, 1952.

Adele attended Webster Elementary School and Cyprus Jr. High in Magna, Utah graduating from Cyprus High School in 1940. She and Don started their married life in Magna, later moving to Garfield, and finally settling down in Hunter where they lived together for 60 years. Adele worked at Whittier Elementary as manager of the school food service for three years, and then was promoted to Coordinator of Food Service for Granite School District, which was a position she held for 18 years. An active member of the LDS church, she held many church jobs, especially enjoying her time with young children in Primary. She was a devoted wife and mother who excelled at making her loved ones feel safe. She was an incredible cook, and took great pride in always having good food for her family when they came to visit. Her pies, cookies, cakes, and soups were legendary in the family. Known to her grandchildren as "Grandma Delle," she took an active participant in life, and she had many diverse hobbies, including oil painting, tole painting, sewing, cooking, snowmobiling, and gardening.

Adele is survived by her husband, Don; children, Lynda Rushton (Clyde) Ahlquist, Craig Rushton, and Randy (Lynda) Rushton; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2004 at the Summerhills Ward, 4322 South 5400 West, where friends may call Saturday 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: Peel Funeral Home.
