Many have recently deplored what they consider the hypocrisy of the United States in dealing with the incidents of abuse of prisoners-of-war at Abu Ghraib prison. These actions pale in comparison to those atrocities that American soldiers in Iraq, such as my son, have witnessed, or at least the aftermath. In a recent telephone conversation, my son described the gruesome scene members of his platoon encountered. They found the decapitated body of a Caucasian male hanging by a rope tied to the feet. Where are the pictures of such atrocities in the media? Today we learned of a video the enemy made of a decapitation of an American.
In the name of fair and balanced reporting, I suggest you interview Utah soldiers who have recently returned from Iraq and ask them about atrocities they witnessed.
