Mark William Stoddard, 44, died May 11, 2004 after suffering a heart attack May 6, 2004 while jogging - one of the things he loved to do most.

Mark is the son of Darrell and LaRae Stoddard, born May 18, 1959 in Ogden, Utah. He attended school in Provo and Orem, graduating from Orem High School in 1977, where he wrestled on the state championship wrestling team. He filled an LDS mission to the New York, New York City Mission, 1978-1980.

Mark married Patricia Ann Taylor in the Salt Lake Temple August 4, 1984. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Richfield, Utah; Mt. Home, ID; Ketchum, ID; and Vernal, UT.

In February of this year, Mark returned to his beloved Provo to begin a business as a master craftsman. We now believe this was also to have his family where they needed to be at the time of his death. Mark's life was filled with creating wondrous and beautiful things. Even at age six, he built an almost full-size airplane that he believed would fly. Surely his creative gifts will now continue beyond the veil.

He is survived by his wife, Pattie; son, Thayne Darrell, 14; daughter, Bethany Rose, 9; brothers: James (JoNell) Stoddard of Spanish Fork; Paul (Shelley) Stoddard of Orem; sisters: Mrs. Mark (Laura) Belk of West Mountain; Mrs. Jeff (Lisa) Reeves of Orem; Mrs. Reed (Amy) Hunter of Magna; parents Darrell and LaRae Stoddard of Provo; and grandmother Helen Stoddard of Roy.
