The first Salt Lake Jewish Film Festival, an event spotlighting short and feature-length works from Jewish filmmakers, opens Saturday and runs through May 20.
Festival screenings will be held in Brewvies Cinema Pub, 677 S. 200 West. (Brewvies is open to patrons 21 years or older.) There will also be a special teen night on Tuesday in the Jewish Community Center, 2 N. Medical Drive.
Films to be screened include "The Hebrew Hammer," a superhero spoof, and "The Fiddler on the Roof Sing-Along," an audience-participation event with the 1971 film.
