PROVO — Reconstruction has started on a section of the Provo-Jordan River Parkway on University Avenue from 4200 North to 4800 North.

The construction project will be done in three phases.

Phase one will involve the grading of a temporary trail on the east side of North University Avenue from 3700 North to 4800 North, the installation of a storm drain and a 12-inch water line.

The water will go down the middle of the existing trail and will necessitate the closure of that section of the trail because no other alignment of the water was possible due to the number of underground utilities in the area.

Phase two will begin in July and will involve the clearing of undesirable vegetation, site grading, path construction and installation of a curb and gutter.

Phase three will begin in September with the installation of an irrigation system and landscaping.
