Joseph "Joe" Milton Moody, 76, passed away in Delta, May 10, 2004.

Born April 30, 1928, in Delta to M. Ward and Inez Snow Moody. Graduated Delta High School where served as Student Body President. Earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from BYU.

LDS mission to Northern States/ Great Lakes Mission. Married in the Salt Lake Temple, January 30, 1952, to Glena LaMar Johnson of Orem. During Korean conflict, served in Army Counter Intelligence Corps. Worked in family seed business, Moody Brothers.

A life-long educator, he taught music first at Duchesne High School, then for several decades at Delta High School. Early 70's returned to BYU, obtained Master's Degree in Educational Psychology. Remaining years worked as Guidance Counselor in Delta High School, and ended years in education as Millard School District Educational

Psychologist.

In 1982, elected to Utah House of Representatives. Served honorably and capably for 10 years. Chairman of the Health Committee six of those years, spearheading and passing important legislation to provide doctors for rural areas of Utah.

Devoted member of LDS Church, serving as Bishop, High Councilman, and in Stake Mission Presidency. Joe and Glena organized West Millard Oratorio Society in mid-60's to present the "Messiah" each year at Christmas time. A much loved tradition in Delta still today.

Ward (Cindy) Moody of American Fork; Dean (Allison) Moody of Payson; Reed (Lynnette) Moody of Hoytsville; Becky (Wade) Christofferson of Dublin, Ohio; Mindy (Ron) Flake of Snowflake, Arizona; brother: David; sisters: Jeneal Peterson, Elizabeth Anderson, Dorene Sheldon.

Funeral services Monday, May 17, 2004, 11 a.m. at Delta Stake House, 72 N Center St, Delta. Friends call Sunday 7-8 p.m. at Nickle Mortuary, Delta and at chapel Monday 9:30-10:40 a.m. Burial Delta Cemetery.
