A semitrailer truck collided with a small car in Magna around noon Friday, leaving two teenagers in critical condition.

The accident, at the intersection of U-201 and 8400 West, occurred when the car, driven by 17-year-old Casey D. Johnson of Magna, attempted to turn left off 201 onto 8400 West. The semi, driving through the intersection, hit the passenger-side door.

Johnson was taken by helicopter to University Hospital, where she was listed in critical condition late Friday. Her passenger, 18-year-old Shanna Kay Holmes of Magna, was airlifted to LDS Hospital, where she also was reported critical.
