—Bernie Williams, Yankees, went 3-for-4 with a homer and three runs in New York's 7-4 win over Anaheim.

—Orlando Hudson and Frank Catalanotto, Blue Jays. Hudson went 4-for-4 and tied a franchise record with five runs, and Catalanotto went 4-for-5 with a career-high four RBIs to lead Toronto over Boston 12-6.

—Vance Wilson, Mets, hit a three-run homer to lead New York to a 7-4 win over Arizona.

Mike Maroth pitched eight sharp innings Thursday, leading Detroit over Oakland 3-1. Maroth (4-1) went 9-21 last season and did not earn his fourth victory until July 5. He allowed one run on five hits, walking one and striking out four.
